PLAYER PROFILE:
Will McDonald IV is a defensive end for the New York Jets in the National Football League. Will was born in Pewaukee, Wisconsin and played high school football in Waukesha, Wisconsin where he lettered in football, basketball, and track & field. He was one of the best high school recruits to come out of Wisconsin in 2018. He committed to Iowa State University and redshirted as a Freshman, but still appeared in 4 games. He became a full-time starter with the Cyclones as a redshirt Sophomore and absolutely dominated! He was named a 1st-team All-Big 12 selection after tying for the national lead with 10.5 sacks as a Sophomore! As a Junior at Iowa State, Will again recorded 10.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss. Then, as a Senior, he recorded 5 more sacks and broke the career sacks record at Iowa State! After graduating from Iowa State in 2022 and being one of the best defensive players in school history, Will declared for the 2023 NFL Draft. He was drafted in the 1st round (15th overall) by the New York Jets! As a Rookie, Will was a rotational pass rusher, but still recorded 3 sacks & 15 tackles while playing about 25% of the defensive stats. This last year, in 2024, Will exploded onto the scene and recorded 10.5 sacks, 29 total tackles, and 11 tackles for loss! He has become a foundational piece along the New York Jets defensive line, and we are so excited to have him at camp with us in 2025!
