PLAYER PROFILE:
Quan Martin is a safety for the Washington Commanders in the National Football League. Quan Martin grew up in Lehigh Acres, Florida, where he excelled on the football field in a talent-rich area. As a senior in high school, Quan recorded 38 tackles and two interceptions. He was rated a 3-star recruit coming out of high school and committed to the University of Illinois to play in the Big Ten. Even though he was a natural safety, Quan was moved to the cornerback position as a freshman, where he immediately became a key piece of the Illinois defense. In 9 games as a freshman, he recorded 44 tackles & 3 interceptions. He continued to be a cornerback for Illinois during his sophomore & junior seasons, but really became a stalwart once he moved back to the safety position before his senior season. As a senior in 2021, Quan played in all 12 games for Illinois and recorded 56 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1 interception & 6 pass deflections. He used the extra year of eligibility granted to him due to Covid to come back for one more year in 2022 at Illinois. In 2022, he had another fantastic season for Illinois and recorded 64 tackles, 3 interceptions & 11 pass deflections! After graduating in 2023 from Illinois, Quan declared for the 2023 NFL Draft and was selected in the 2nd Round (47th overall) by the Washington Commanders! In his Rookie season in 2023, Quan played in all 16 games for the Commanders with 5 starts and recorded 46 tackles, 2 interceptions & 4 pass deflections. Then in 2025, he became a full-time starter at the safety position for the Commanders and had 87 tackles, 1 interception & 3 forced fumbles! It looks like Quan will continue to be a key piece of the Commanders secondary for many years to come! We are ecstatic to welcome Quan Martin to our camp in Virginia in 2025!
