Marcellas Dial Player Profile

PLAYER PROFILE:

Marcellas Dial is a cornerback for the New England Patriots in the National Football League. Marcellas grew up in Woodruff, South Carolina and although he was a standout on the football field, he didn't receive much attention coming out of high school. After graduating from high school, Marcellas played for George Military Junior College in the hopes of getting more attention. As a freshman in 2019, Marcellas was one of the best players at Georgia Military college and quickly gained scouts attention. He ended up transferring to his hometown school in 2021, the University of South Carolina, after being ranked among the top 50 best Junior College players. In his first season at South Carolina in 2021, Marcellas became an immediate starter at cornerback for the Gamecocks. He followed that up with two more spectacular seasons in 2022 & 2023! In his three years at South Carolina, Marcellas recorded 114 tackles, 28 pass break-ups, and 3 interceptions! After graduating from South Carolina, Marcellas was invited to the 2024 NFL Draft combine where he tested among the best at the cornerback position. He would go on to be drafted in the 6th Round (180th overall) by the New England Patriots in the 2024 NFL Draft! As a rookie in 2024, Marcellas appeared in all 17 games for the Patriots, primarily as a special teams' player. He recorded 12 tackles and 1 forced fumble during his Rookie season. We can't wait to see what Marcellas has planned for his second season with the Patriots! We are so excited to have Marcellas Dial with us at camp in 2025 and we hope to see you there! Your chance to meet him and other members of the New England Patriots is July 19-22, 2025, at UMASS-Dartmouth. Don't miss out!
