PLAYER PROFILE:
Jonathan Greenard is an outside linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football league. Jonathan grew up in Hiram, Georgia and starred in both basketball and football in high school. He loved both sports, but knew football was his true calling. As a Senior in high school, Jonathan was named the 5-A regional defensive player of the year and was rated a 3-star recruit. After graduating from high school, he committed to Louisville to play college football. Jonathan redshirted as a freshman, but became a key reserve in his second year, recording 22 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a pick-six. Then, as a redshirt sophomore, Greenard became a full-time starter and led the team with 15.5 tackles for loss and 7 sacks! He unfortunately got hurt in Louisville's 1st game as a Junior and missed the entire season. After his season-ending injury, Jonathan elected to transfer to the University of Florida, where he immediately became their best player. In his one season at Florida, Jonathan recorded 52 tackles, 15.5 tackles for loss & 9.5 sacks! He was also named a 1st-Team All-SEC selection! After an amazing year with Florida, he declared for the 2020 NFL Draft and was selected in the 3rd Round (90th overall) by the Houston Texans. Over the next 4 years in Houston, Jonathan became a stalwart along the defensive line for the Texans and recorded 127 tackles & 23 sacks! During the 2024 off-season, Greenard signed a lucrative 4-year, $76 million contract with the Vikings that turned into one of the best signings of 2024 free agency! In his 1st season with the Vikings in 2024, Jonathan appeared in all 17 regular season games and recorded 59 tackles & 12 sacks! He was also named to the Pro Bowl! Jonathan has become a key part of a very strong Vikings defense and we can't wait to see what he does next! We are so excited to have Jonathan Greenard at our camp in 2025!
