Ja'Whaun Bentley Player Profile

PLAYER PROFILE:

Ja'Whaun Bentley is a linebacker for the New England Patriots in the National Football League. Ja'Whaun grew up in Glenarden, Maryland and attended DeMatha Catholic High School where he was a football standout for 4 years! After High School, Ja'Whaun attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. He became an immediate starter for the Boilermakers as a Freshman and would remain a starter for all 4 years! Bentley really broke out as a Senior in college, where he recorded 97 tackles & 11.5 tackles for loss in 2017. He was also named as a 2017 All-Big Ten Conference Honorable mention and was awarded the Defensive MVP Award in the 2017 Foster Farms Bowl. After graduating from Purdue in 2018, Ja'Whaun declared for the 2018 NFL Draft and was selected in the 5th Round (143rd overall) by the New England Patriots! Just like in college, Ja'Whaun impressed his coaches with his play early on and became a week 1 starter as a Rookie! Ja'Whaun has played 6 full NFL seasons, all with the Patriots and hold career totals of 497 tackles, 10 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions! He also won Super Bowl LIII with the New England Patriots! We are so excited to have Ja'Whaun at camp with us in 2024!
