PLAYER PROFILE:
Jamien Sherwood is a linebacker for the New York Jets in the National Football League. Jamien grew up in Florida and attended Jensen Beach High School, a talent rich area for football. In high school, he excelled on the football field and was one of the best high school recruits in the state of Florida as a senior. He committed to Auburn University, where he immediately became a contributor as a true freshman. He appeared in 13 games as a freshman and recorded 23 tackles, one interception, and 1.5 sacks. As a sophomore, he continued to play a depth role along the Tigers defense before becoming a starter in 2020 as a junior. As a junior, Jamien recorded 75 tackles and became a pivotal part of Auburn's front-seven. After his junior year, Jamien declared for the 2021 NFL Draft and was selected in the 5th round (146th overall) by the New York Jets! He was such a standout in training camp as a Rookie that he started their week 1 game, and 4 of their first 5 games. He unfortunately tore his Achilles in week 7 and missed the rest of his Rookie year, but that didn't slow him down. In his second year with the Jets, Jamien appeared in all 17 games and recorded 16 tackles. After another solid year in 2023, Jamien broke out in his 4th season. In 2024, he became a full-time starter for the Jets and recorded 158 tackles & 2 sacks! After that tremendous season, Jamien re-signed with the Jets on a 3-year, $45 million contract. He'll continue to be a key contributor to a strong Jets defense for many years to come! We are so excited to have Jamien Sherwood at camp with us in 2025!
