James Smith-Williams - Player Profile

PLAYER PROFILE:

James Smith-Williams is a current NFL defensive end for the Washington Commanders. Smith-Williams attended North Carolina State University where he would spend five seasons playing for the Wolfpack. Smith-Williams would play in 29 games over his college career and accumulated 82 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, and 3 pass deflections during that time. After Smith-Williams Graduated at NC State with a degree in Business supply chain management, he declared for the 2020 NFL draft. He would be selected 229th overall in the 7th round by the Washington Commanders. Even though he came into the league as a low draft pick, he grinded his way onto the 53-man roster and became a valuable depth piece for Washington's defense. Since being drafted in 2020, Smith-Williams has accumulated 40 tackles, 3 sacks and a pass deflection in 28 games, including 6 starts. You can receive instruction from James Smith-Williams at camp this summer in Fairfax, Virginia at George Mason University. James was also a featured instructor for our 2022 & 2023 camps.
