PLAYER PROFILE
Chad Greenway is a former linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League. Greenway grew up in Mount Vernon, South Dakota, where he dominated in high school. He was named a three-time South Dakota All-State performer on the football field and was named the Gatorade Football Player of the Year as a Senior in high school in 2001! He played quarterback, free safety, and returned punts while in high school. Greenway also lettered in basketball, baseball, and track & field at Mount Vernon. Needless to say, he was a dominant high school athlete! After high school, he decided to attend the University of Iowa, where he would spend the next 5 years of his life. He redshirted as a Freshman at Iowa and was injured as a sophomore. However, he became a dominant presence for the Hawkeyes defense in his third year! As a redshirt sophomore, Greenway started at outside linebacker in all 13 games and was named a second-team All-Big Ten Selection. He continued that dominant trend in both 2004 & 2005 as an upperclassman. He was named an All-American as both a Junior and Senior, and was named a Bronko Nagurski Award finalist both years as well, given to the best collegiate linebacker in the country. After his dominant career at Iowa, Greenway declared for the 2006 NFL Draft and was selected in the 1st Round (17th overall) by the Minnesota Vikings! That proved to be a wise decision as Greenway would go on to have one of the best defensive careers in Vikings History. Over the next 10 ears, Greenway would be a force in the middle of the Vikings defense and only missed 4 games in his entire career! He would finish his illustrious career with 760 tackles, 18 sacks, 8 forced fumbles, 11 interceptions, & 2 defensive touchdowns in 156 career games! We are so excited to have Chad Greenway at our camp in 2024 in Minnesota! Your chance to meet Chad Greenway and other members of the Minnesota Vikings is June 29th-July 2nd at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. Don't miss out!
