PLAYER PROFILE:
Brian Asamoah is a linebacker for the Minnesota Vikings in the National Football League. Brian was raised in Columbus, Ohio and attended St. Francis De Sales High School, where he was a 4-year varsity starter at running back and linebacker. He was one of the best players in the State of Ohio as a Senior and committed to powerhouse Oklahoma University out of High School. He redshirted his first year at Oklahoma before becoming a part-time player as a sophomore. He recorded 23 tackles and two sacks as a Sophomore. He really broke out in his Junior year, where he became a full-time starter and led the team in tackles with 66. He also recorded two sacks and an interception as a Junior. In his final collegiate season, Asamoah took another big-step forward and once again led his team in tackles with 90. After the 2021 season ended, Brian declared for the 2022 NFL Draft, where he was selected in the third round (66th overall) by the Minnesota Vikings. Asamoah spent his Rookie season as a rotational linebacker and special teams' player. He followed that up in 2023 by appearing in 13 games and continuing to be a valuable depth piece for the defense and special teams.
