PLAYER PROFILE:
A'Shawn Robinson is a defensive lineman for the Carolina Panthers in the National Football League. Robinson is a native of Fort Worth, Texas and attended Arlington Heights High School where he starred on the football, basketball, and track & field teams! As a Senior in 2013, A'Shawn was considered one of the best defensive line prospects in the country and committed to the University of Alabama to play for Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. It didn't take long for A'Shawn to become a star in college, as he led Alabama in sacks as a Freshman. He's the only true Freshman to every lead a Nick Saban team in sacks! Over his Sophomore and Junior Years, A'Shawn continued to dominate for the Crimson Tide and was named a finalist for the Outland Trophy (award for the nation's best interior lineman) as a Junior. He also helped Alabama win a National Championship in 2015-16! After his Junior season at Alabama, A'Shawn declared for the 2016 NFL Draft and would be selected in the 2nd Round (46th overall) by the Detroit Lions! As a Rookie, he appeared in all 16 games and recorded 2 sacks and 30 combined tackles. A'Shawn continued to be a key piece of the Lions defensive line for the next four years before signing with the Los Angeles Rams as a free agent in 2020. During the 2021 season with the Rams, A'Shawn starred for the Rams and helped them win Super Bowl LVI over the Cincinatti Bengals. He would spend one more season with the Rams before signing with the New York Giants in 2023. He played in all 17 games for the Giants before becoming a free agent again in 2024 and signing a 3-year $22.5 million contract with the Carolina Panthers. In 2024, he helped stabilize the Panthers interior defense and will continue to help them in 2025! For his career, A'Shawn has appeared in 126 games and recorded 12.5 sacks, 258 solo tackles, and 6 forced fumbles. We are so excited to welcome A'Shawn Robinson to our camp in North Carolina in 2025!
