LaDainian Tomlinson is considered one of the greatest running backs to ever play in the NFL. He was chosen 5th overall in the 2001 draft by the San Diego Chargers and finished his rookie year with 1,236 yards rushing, 59 catches and 10 Touchdowns. 2001 was the first of his eight straight 1,000 yard seasons.
Tomlinson was an exceptional receiver as well catching over 50 passes in nine of his 11 seasons with career high in 2003 when eclipsed 100 catches.
In 2006 Tomlinson was named the NFL's most valuable player when he rushed for 1,815 yards had 31 touchdowns which established a new single-season record at the time.
Tomlinson was elected to 5 pro-bowls and finished with 13,684 rushing yards, which ranks 5th all time. His 145 rushing touchdowns ranks 2nd all time and his 163 total touchdowns ranks 3rd behind only behind Jerry Rice (208) and Emmitt Smith (175).
Tomlinson was named to the all decade team of the 2000's.
