PLAYER PROFILE:

Tyler Conklin is a tight end for the New York Jets in the National Football League. Tyler was a standout basketball and football player in high school and actually started his collegiate career as a basketball player for NorthWood University. After spending one semester at NorthWood University, Tyler decided his true passion was football and transferred to Central Michigan University, where he walked on to the football team. He spent his Freshman and Sophomore seasons at Central Michigan gaining weight and refining his skill, before finally becoming a full-time starter at tight end in his Junior season. Tyler excelled as the starting tight end for Central Michigan during his Junior and Senior seasons and declared for the 2018 NFL Draft after graduating with a degree in communications. He would end up being selected in the fifth round by the Minnesota Vikings in 2018. Tyler spent his first three seasons with the Vikings in a blocking/reserve role with the team, but finally broke out during his 4th professional season. In 2021, he played in all 17 games for the Vikings and recorded 61 receptions for 593 yards and 3 touchdowns. He leveraged his career year in 2021 into a big contract with the New York Jets, where he also excelled in 2022. During his first season with the Jets, Tyler posted 58 receptions for 552 yards and 3 touchdowns. He's looking keep building on that momentum in 2023 as the Jets starting tight end!
